STANCE at Formula Drift Atlanta and in Japan
The Atlanta stop for Formula Drift is always one of the most entertaining; the track is fast and makes for exciting tandem battles, the fans are wild, and this event has been known to set the pace for the rest of the FD season. In the Pro 1 category, we had Alec Hohnadell in his supercharged LS3 S14 and Dan Burkett in his 2JZ Mark 4 Supra both running custom valved XR3 suspension. Danny George,Crick Filipi, and George K. were present for the Pro 2 category.

Dan Burkett qualified 18th in Pro 1, and was in the main show on Saturday. His Top 32 battle was a match up against Dean Kearney in his 1300hp Dodge Viper. Dean advanced on to the Top 16.
Alec Hohnadell qualified 8th, and was set up to battle Juha Rintanen in his Top 32 battle. Alec progressed and moved on to the Top 16!
For his Top 16 battle, Alec would battle Jeff Jones and advance on to the Great 8.
Alec had an intense battle with the former Formula Drift champion Vaughn Gittin Jr., but ultimately bested the veteran and moved on to the Final 4!
Alec’s night would end with this battle against the Irish drifter James Deane, but his final result for the event was a 4th place finish!
Meanwhile in Japan, StanceJPN driver Miki Takagi competed in the Drift Muscle Championship at her home course of Meihan in Osaka, and secured first place in her class!

STANCE at Formula Drift: Orlando
This year, Orlando marks the second stop for the Formula Drift Championship Pro series, and the first stop for the Pro 2 series. The track, Orlando Speedworld, features a fast bank and an unforgiving transition off the bank to the center “power alley” section. If you miss the small window off the bank, the bump is very aggressive and you lose grip and speed allowing the chase car to gain ground on you. However, if you nail the window and shoot the gap so to speak, it’s the prefect set up and it’s a difficult run to follow.
StanceUSA driver Alec Hohnadell in his XR3 equipped S14. Alec qualified 26th, and moved through Top 32 to the Top 16.
Alec placed in the Top 10 at this event, with a position of 8th overall.
Dan Burkett is running XR3 3-way adjustable suspension on his Mark 4 Supra.
Dan qualified 16th, and was knocked out in Top 32.
In the Pro 2 class, StanceUSA driver George Kiriakopoulos finished 12th.
George is running XR3 suspension on his 370Z, with our Air Cup Suspension system on the front of his car for easy trailer loading.
Danny George debuted his new chassis at this round, and finished 14th in his 2017 debut.
Danny is running custom valved XR1 suspension on his E36.

STANCE Suspension at Final Bout II
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
Final Bout II took place last weekend at USA International Raceway in Shawano, WI, featuring more teams and cars from all over North America, a tighter team tandem competition and an even greater atmosphere of camaraderie among drivers and spectators than last year’s inaugural event.
We at STANCE Suspension are proud to have been onboard for the second year in a row as this grassroots event continues to grow and establish itself as not only an international drift day, but as the premier celebration of true drift style and spirit here in the US.
Please enjoy the following images of some of the cars seen in action at Final Bout II equipped with STANCE Suspension:

Antonio Alvendia’s New Project AE86
[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]
You may already know this through and through connoisseur of the AE86 chassis from one of his Cipher Garage AE86s twins [see above image], the early days over at SpeedHunters, his own media outlet MotorMavens, or from the ever popular event he’s put together known as 86FEST.
[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”7510″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]
It does not come as a surprise that Antonio, with his extensive experience with this particular Toyota, continues to put together prime examples of what enthusiasts of this chassis aim for.
His latest build has just began and started as the meager, bone stock car seen above, but with many plans already in store for this project we can’t wait to see it come together.
[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”7509″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]
It will feature a stroked JDM red-top 4A-G from an AE92 assembled by RSPEC Auto and will be on display at SEMA 2015!
[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”7512″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]
As for suspension, Antonio said, “I decided on a set of Stance Super Sports because they come with spindles for the AE86 and use an inverted mono-tube strut, which is double the width of normal coil-over strut shafts (45mm versus typical 20mm). I currently have a set of inverted mono-tube coil-overs in my zenki (1985 AE86) and a set of normal coil-overs in my kouki (1986 AE86), and the difference in driving feel is huge.”
[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”7513″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]
“These coil-overs also include roll center adjusters for restoring the lower control arms’ factory geometry. A pair of these alone usually cost about $120 when you buy them from an aftermarket suspension company, but they come included in the Stance coil-over kit for the AE86. I dig it.”
-Antonio Alvendia

Matt Eck’s TF-Works-built SR20-powered Nissan 350Z, which graces the pages of this month’s Super Street Magazine, is one like no other.
[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”7266″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]
Over the course of several months, Matt’s 350z went from a completely stock street car to one of the most modified Z33s we’ve ever seen.
[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”7263″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]
The car features a full host of custom, one-off engine components thanks to the guys over at TF-Works, pushing the power output well over 600rwhp.
[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”7261″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]
Along with plenty of power on tap, Matt’s car has added aero, chassis and suspension upgrades throughout all working
in conjunction with a set of STANCE Pro COMP 2-way adjustable coilovers to put the power to the ground lap after lap.
[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”7267″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]

Phil Sohn Does It Again!
[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]
If you’re a fan of the legendary rotary powered sports cars from Mazda,
there is a very strong chance that you have already come across one of the many projects Phil Sohn has built.

“Phil has owned many rotary-powered Mazdas over the years and he first fell in love with the FD3S in 1992 when he saw a brand new one driving through his town. … He’s gone on to own no less than 15 different examples of the FD over the years and he can be considered one of America’s most dedicated rotary enthusiasts.”
