Despite the cool temps and intermittent rain, the STANCE USA x TF-Works Track Modified RWD Class cars still performed well with great results.  The Nissan 240sx S14 piloted by Mike L. took 1st Place honors & the SR22DET-swapped Nissan 350z Z33 driven by Eric W. took 2nd Place even after suffering from a blown alternator.

Forrest and his team Get Nuts have been piloting the S14 for several years now with great success.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_blank” image=”6127″ img_size=”large” img_link_large=”yes”][vc_column_text]The S14 has evolved in power, suspension and overall balance and proved to be a machine to beat.  Stance Suspension and Forrest have been working together for almost 6-yrs now.  It is no fluke.  Stance Suspension has been quietly creating champions in Japan as well, with Naoki Nakamura winning the D1SL Championship and Miki Yabuchi winning the D1SL Ladies League Championship in 2014![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_blank” image=”6131″ img_size=”large” img_link_large=”yes”][vc_column_text]Forrest Wang, motivated more than ever, wanted a new chassis that would be even better, but not too different than the S14 as he had seen others switch in the past with bad results.  The choice of an S15 came as no surprise and offered a chance at a similar formula with potential for greater performance.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_blank” image=”6171″ img_size=”large” img_link_large=”yes”][vc_column_text]The new chassis proved to be the right choice!  More power, lighter weight, better balance and new improved damper technology came together and surprised even Forrest himself!  “This car is crazy! So much traction and response!”  But with 6 months to build the car and almost no seat time, it was still going to be difficult with the incredible depth of the Formula D line up.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_blank” image=”6173″ img_size=”large” img_link_large=”yes”][vc_column_text]As he started to practice and got the nerves under control, he quickly got comfortable….maybe too comfortable!  He started to get inside and closer than ever to fellow drivers with ease.

Long Beach is not the most forgiving track either.  One false calculation and you’re in the wall, and all of your hard work can be destroyed in seconds.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image border_color=”grey” img_link_target=”_blank” image=”6174″ img_size=”large” img_link_large=”yes”][vc_column_text]This didn’t stop Forrest from getting inches away from the walls!

David, our head engineer, was there to make sure Forrest got comfortable and confident with the new chassis.  He got to work quickly and had Forrest smiling ear to ear as he willingly put the S15’s rear bumper on the wall just to “tap” it![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” interval=”3″ images=”6176,6177,6178,6179,6180,6181,6182,6183″ onclick=”link_image” custom_links_target=”_self” img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”6184″ border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_blank” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Forrest was focused and confident.  He scored a perfect 97pts for #1 qualifying run.  Arguably the best run ever at Long Beach!  The amount of angle, speed, smoke and style was unreal.  The run was incredible to watch live and had everyone standing up out of their seats![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”6187″ border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_blank” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]With the 1st place qualifying run, Forrest was matched up against a young up and coming driver Matt Coffman.  Maybe it was the nerves, but Forrest didn’t put his best run in and the score was close.  Judges favored the underdog and Matt won the tandem.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”6189″ border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_blank” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Building a brand new chassis in 6 months from scratch is no easy task, let alone qualifying 1st!  We knew there were going to be more things that could improve and know that with every round we will be better and things will get nuttier!

Thank you to all the incredible fans and supporters![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_gallery type=”flexslider_fade” interval=”3″ onclick=”link_image” custom_links_target=”_blank” images=”6191,6192,6193,6194,6195,6196,6197,6198,6199,6200,6201,6202,6203,6204,6205,6206,6207,6208,6209,6210,6211,6212,6213,6214,6215,6216,6217,6218,6219,6220,6221,6222,6223,6224,6225,6226,6227,6228″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

STANCE was one of the very few alterations to Alex Talbot C6’s for the 2012 season, but his confidence level behind the wheel soared with the new suspension setup, telling us:

“I was really happy… the car felt amazing and I went almost two seconds a lap faster at Mid-Ohio with no other changes!”

Forrest Wang Pro-AM RD4

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

Forrest Wang took first place at Formula D Pro-AM Las Vegas, Take No Prisoneers, literally battling it out to the very end, regaining his Formula D license!

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image image=”3423″ border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

Congrats for the epic win and currently sitting on top of the points standings!

Stewart Leask Pro-AM RD3

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

Stewart Leask qualified and finished third, helping him hold on to his second place spot in the point standings!

The weather forecast for Round 3 called for rainy conditions on less than optimal parking lot pavement. Leask set his car up with this in mind, swapping to softer rear spring rates and sway settings and adjusting for softer compression and rebound. However, when they took their car off the trailer they went straight into practice on a surprisingly dry surface.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image image=”3442″ border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

“I thought I’d missed the mark for the weekend as my springs were too soft and rebound was extremely lazy. This is the time where I truly appreciate you guys, what you offer to us as drivers and how amazing your coilovers really are,” explains Stew.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image image=”3445″ border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image image=”3446″ border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

“Very rarely have I ever had a set of coilovers that could makeup for missing my mark on spring rates. I definitely went too soft for this event and didn’t want to sacrifice seat time, so I altered compression and rebound to mask the lower spring rate and went up a click on the rear sway.”

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image image=”3447″ border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image image=”3448″ border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image image=”3449″ border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

“The results were perfect, just as they were when we did the exact same thing at XDC Florida. The needles are responsive and changes are noticeable everytime, and they are big changes which is exactly what we need.”

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image image=”3450″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image image=”3452″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

“I’d like to also note that from last event (going full out and catching air on that run) there was absolutely no damage found on my coilovers. I did break some other things and my car has been known to bend shock rods before, but not this time. I’m going to proudly chalk that up to product quality once more and thank you guys. Because these parts hold up so well I’m susceptible to zero downtime and I’m very grateful for it.”
